Special guest, Emily Ayenew.

Emily is an empathetic, ambitious individual with a strong passion for supporting older adults. Her passion took off at a young age when she obtained her first job in a retirement home. After high school, she volunteered in Guatemala with older adults in an adult day program where she discovered that working with older adults was her life purpose. She has a creative skillset when caring for and working with older adults living with cognitive impairment. Following her experience in Guatemala, she graduated from the Social Service Worker-Gerontology program with honours at Sheridan College. Emily is currently studying in Sheridan’s new Honours Bachelor of Community Safety degree program. She strives to continue working with and advocating for the marginalized populations within our communities to help create equitable opportunities for everyone.
