The Nikki Clarke Radio Show with Karolyn Smardz Frost

The Nikki Clarke Radio Show is transforming lives, one story at a time.

Both an archaeologist and an historian, Karolyn Smardz Frost is the former director of Toronto’s Archaeological Resource Centre. She is an adjunct professor in the Department of History and Classics at Acadia University and the Senior Research Fellow for African Canadian History at York University’s Harriet Tubman Institute. She holds a PhD in Race, Slavery and Imperialism from the University of Waterloo.

Karolyn’s new volume, Steal Away Home (HarperCollins Canada) tells the story of Cecelia Jane Reynolds, who at the age of fifteen fled her Kentucky by way of Niagara Falls. She made a new home in Toronto but never forgot the beloved mother and brother she was forced to leave behind.
