Akua is a senior communications professional but is best known in the community for her involvement with Caribbean Arts. With a B.A. in Fine Arts Cultural Studies and M.A. in Communications, Culture, and Technology, Akua is engaged in the delivery and advancement of cultural arts in the diaspora. She is Co-Founder and Program Director of D’LYFE Dance Company, and Co-Founder of GoLeft Creatives. Akua was featured in CBC’s HERstory in Black series, honouring 150 Black Canadian women and was awarded by the past Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda for her contribution to arts in the Caribbean community.
