Lonzo Nzekwe is a Nigerian/Canadian acclaimed film director and producer based in Toronto, Canada. He is the CEO of IronFlix Inc., film production and online movie streaming platform with a special focus on movies from Africa and the African diaspora.

Lonzo’s debut feature film, Anchor Baby won 13 international awards including Best Film and Best Actress at the 2010 Harlem International Film Festival. The film later became an independent commercial success after its theatrical releases in Canada, UK, Nigeria and Ghana. His second film, Meet The Parents won the Best Short Film award at the 2016 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). Both films are currently available to a global audience on his online VOD streaming platform,
IronFlix.com.

Lonzo is a self-taught filmmaker who learned the art of filmmaking by studying Behind The Scene videos of Hollywood films and watching movies by renowned film directors. Prior to directing his first film, Lonzo studied the “2 Day Film School” by DOV Simmens and developed his editing skills by enrolling at Witz Training Institute in Toronto.

In 2013, Lonzo co-founded the first black-owned 24-hour Canadian television network, FEVA TV. After serving as FEVA’s CEO from its inception, Lonzo resigned from the network in 2015 to focus his talent on his first love, film production.

In April 2015, Lonzo founded IronFlix Inc., a film production and distribution company based in
Ajax, Ontario, Canada.

Lonzo is also an acclaimed screenwriter and consultant in the film and television industry.
