Shelley Jarrett brings to the community a wide range of expertise. With over 25 years’ experience of women with women and supporting women in both domestic violence situations as well as women’s empowerment.
Shelley Jarrett is a multiple award-winning entrepreneurs, documentary film producer, speaker, magazine publisher and women’s advocate.
She is also the recipient of numerous awards including The Women Entrepreneur Award for 2019 in Celebration of “Small Business Week” in Toronto
Recipient of Woman Achievement Award in recognition for outstanding contribution to the community re International Women’s Day 2019
Shelley received the Excellence Achievement award for film and media from Glorious Women of Wonders in 2019.
She was also honoured as being one of the 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada by… …CIBWE 2015.
Shelley has also added a Podcast show to her rooster, conversations about building and sustaining healthy relationships.
Shelley has completed her debut feature documentary “W’AT ABOWT US” an award-winning documentary. Factual stories of eight women from 5 different cultural backgrounds telling their truth of their own experiences of abuse and sexual assaults in diverse locations.
Shelley is the founder and Publisher of SMJ Magazine, an Image, lifestyle and business online publication, with limited printed editions.
Covering stories on arts & entertainment, beauty & fashion, health & wellness, faith and community.
SMJ Magazine also gives entrepreneurs a platform to tell their business stories. SMJ Magazine App can be downloaded on the google play and apple store.
Shelley provides mentorship to over 300 women who are currently registered with 10 Thousand Coffees within the Start-Ups Here Toronto Hub. (Curated Membership Hub)
Shelley is also Board Advisory to a wonderful organization, Canadian Centre for Women Empowerment who supports survivors of domestic violence with resources
Shelley recently launched an e-course for business owners and entrepreneurs, providing all the tools necessary to pivot their businesses to adjust to the new normal.
Shelley has merged her passion for community development and working with women with her love for film and media arts.
