Special guest, Steve Anderson, deputy mayor of the town of Shelburne.

On October 22, 2018, Steve was elected as Deputy Mayor for the town of Shelburne and sworn in on December 12, 2018. Steve was also sworn in as a Councillor on December 13, 2018, for the County of Dufferin.

Steve is also a practicing litigation lawyer for over 15 years with the Toronto Transit
Commission where he has received a number of awards for his distinguished service. Steve has extensive community and governance experience serving as the former Vice-President for the Ontario College of Kinesiologists, Board Member with Prologue to the Performing Arts, Citizen Appointment for the Brampton Community Care Access Centre and a Citizen Appointment for the City of Brampton Task Force. Steve currently serves on the board for Defence Construction Canada as a Director.

Regarding personal accomplishments, Steve was very proud to be named by the Toronto Star as one of the Top 50 Jamaicans in the GTA in 2013 and equally proud of his acknowledgement by the House of Commons for his community service also in 2013.

Steve is a strong believer in family and is the proud father of 2 children.

Steve is launching his book “DRIVEN TO SUCCEED” in Winter 2020 that documents his journey growing up in Jane and Finch to where I am now. It is meant to inspire youths to pursue excellence regardless of their origins.
